The cats come first
Choosing foundation cats will mean taking our time. Health, temperament, sound structure, and a life as beloved family members will guide those choices.
A future chapter of Leopard Moon
Some ideas ask us to slow down, look closer, and imagine what might grow. This is one of them.
The next chapter
Leopard Moon began with a love of cats who carry a little wild-looking elegance into ordinary home life. Our fascination with the Serengeti feels like a natural next chapter.
We intend to develop a separate, carefully researched Serengeti breeding project alongside our Bengal program. It begins with learning, thoughtful conversations, and a clear sense of responsibility to the cats we may bring into it.
Our Bengal family remains at the heart of Leopard Moon. This new project will grow with the same care, patience, and commitment to life underfoot.
Why Serengetis
It is the upright silhouette, the long-legged elegance, the expressive ears, and the feeling of an alert little companion that draw us in.
TICA describes the Serengeti as a long-legged domestic cat with large, round-tipped ears and a confident, outgoing temperament. Its breed history traces to Bengal and Oriental Shorthair crosses, without serval ancestry.
That appearance is a beginning, not a reason to rush. We want to understand the individual cats, their pedigrees, their needs, and the work a responsible program will require.

Research and planning come before foundation cats, pairings, or promises.
What we are building
A separate program, with the same family-first values. These are the priorities we intend to build around.
Choosing foundation cats will mean taking our time. Health, temperament, sound structure, and a life as beloved family members will guide those choices.
We intend to research pedigrees, document parentage, and plan thoughtfully for the long term. A beautiful cat deserves a transparent story.
Genetic screening and appropriate veterinary and cardiac screening will be part of the planning. We will share documented results as the project develops.
Transparency
This is a developing project. We are not presenting an established Serengeti program, confirmed litters, or kittens available for reservation. Foundation cats, timelines, and pairings will be shared when there is something real and documented to share.
There is no Serengeti kitten waitlist here. For now, following the research and the small, considered steps is the invitation.
